• Black box in the lab

    Last week we started setting up a “black box” in the new lab space. It is great to finally have a more permanent motion lab set up that we can use for various types of observation studies and recording sessions.

      Hi Alexander,

      Nice setup!
      But why the choice for black?
      Because the smaller IR reflectivity of the Optitrack cameras? Or to minimize the shadows? But what about the contrast with dark clothes?

      For the IR-cameras it doesn’t matter so much, it is to avoid shadows in video recordings. In our old lab we had a white background, and have had lots of problems with shadows on the floor and walls. Then we just need to ask people to wear light-coloured clothes…
